"The North remembers..." painting exhibition

October 28, 2024

On November 1, 2024, at the Jules Pascin Cultural Center, the magic of art will unfold with “The North Remembers…”, the latest exhibition by Vidin artist Daniela Petrova, lasting until November 7. Her love for her hometown and Bulgaria breathes life into images of old Vidin—its timeless beauty, history, and spirit, conveyed with heartfelt passion.

The date of the opening—National Revival Leaders’ Day—was chosen for its significance. Petrova dedicates this exhibition to the light of knowledge and to those who carry the flame of education in their hearts. In “The North Remembers…”, symbols like the Baba Vida Fortress and the Synagogue are brought to life, recreated with skillful touches that reflect the eternity of cultural heritage.

Accompanying Petrova will be poet Diana Sirakova, reading from her new poetry collection “Inappropriate Time”, and musician Dobromira Dimcheva, whose performances will touch the audience’s hearts. Together, art, words, and music will create an evening that celebrates culture, beauty, and the radiant spirit of our heritage.
