The splendor of the Baroque - Concert of the Vidin Symphony

An exciting, but also deeply emotional evening was experienced by the audience at the concert "The Splendor of Baroque", organized by the Vidin Symphony. Unforgettable works by Johann Sebastian Bach were performed at the Cultural Center "Jules Pascin", but this concert became not only a praise of Baroque music, but also a tribute to an exceptional musician.

The concert began with the welcome of conductor Petar Dimitrov, who in an emotional voice shared the sad news of the sudden loss of Yanko Marinov. “ Sometimes our plans do not align with reality… … Yanko Marinov was a unique person,” he said, as the hall fell silent. The conductor introduced Yosif Gerdzhikov, who took on the responsibility of standing behind the harpsichord in memory of his colleague.

The first performance – Harpsichord Concerto in D minor– was dedicated to the memory of Yanko Marinov. The music sounded with particular power and depth, touching the hearts of all present.

After it, the audience enjoyed the exquisite Orchestral Suite No. 2, in which Luisa Sello's flute impressed with virtuosity and ethereality.

The evening culminated in the performance of the cantata 'Non sa che sia dolore', BWV 209". Soprano Cristina Nadal captivated the audience with the expressiveness and richness of her voice, adding new nuances to this emotional work.

The audience applauded the musicians for a long time, realizing that this evening was not just a concert - it was a testament to the power of music to unite, comfort and pay tribute to great artists.
