Diplomacy and Journalism: A Discussion with Tanya Mihaylova and Georgi Milkov

On May 8, a discussion was held at the Cultural Center „Jules Pascin”, organized by the Diplomatic Institute under the Minister of Foreign Affairs and the Municipality of Vidin. The event featured the Director of the Institute, Tanya Mihaylova, and renowned journalist Georgi Milkov.

The event was opened by Yuliana Dimitrova, Director of the 'Dunav' Municipal Cultural Institute, who emphasized the importance of such initiatives for the city’s cultural growth. The Mayor of Vidin, Dr. Tsvetan Tsenkov, also welcomed the guests, stating: 'It is wonderful that you chose Vidin for the presentation of these books, as they are important for the memory of our history.'

The discussion addressed contemporary challenges in diplomacy and international relations. Tanya Mihaylova and Georgi Milkov shared personal stories regarding the creation of their books. The main focus was the book 'The Libyan Case: All Diplomatic Means.' Georgi Milkov spoke about his personal mission regarding the Bulgarian medics, his meetings with them in Libyan prisons, and the immense pressure they faced. He also highlighted the widespread public support in Bulgaria during that period, expressed through various civic initiatives.
